The New Communist Party of Yugoslavia (NKPJ) is a Marxist-Leninist party witch is active in the territory of former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRJ). Headquarter of Party is in Belgrade, Serbia. The NKPJ also have its organizations in Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Macedonia. The NKPJ was formed in 1990. Its General Secretary is a writer Branko Kitanovic. The Party has a youth section, the League of Yugoslav Communist Youth (SKOJ) formed in 1992. The NKPJ supports Marx, Engels, Lenin and Stalin and considers China, Vietnam, DPRK, Laos and Cuba socialist countries. The NKPJ is strongly against Titoism but is of the opinion that Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRJ) was a socialist country until 1990. The NKPJ's goal is the reunification of SFRJ.

PROTEST IN FRONT OF THE USA EMBASSY IN BELGRADE

More than one hundred activists of New Communist Party of Yugoslavia (NKPJ) and the League of the Communist Youth (SKOJ) together with members of the Serb-Cuban Friendship Association Ivo Lola Ribar - Ernesto Che Guevara, and other friends of Cuba, on Thursday 18 May, in spite of a heavy shower, protested in front of the Embassy of the USA in Belgrade against the decision of a US Court to let the terrorist and notorious CIA collaborator Posada Carriles free.

The protest meeting was held in order to support the action entitled “Posada Carriles must be judged for his crimes”. The campaign is going on vehemently all over the world. Carriles took part to the destruction of Cuban airplanes, and in those occasions 73 human beings lost their lives (for this crime, extradition is demanded by Venezuela, but the USA do not allow it); for decades he organized the plans for the attacks against Cuban leaders and exponents of the Cuban revolution, and realized several terroristic actions against Cuba which caused tens of Cubans to perish.

From this protest meeting, the message has been sent that for Cubans as well as for all progressive persons it is unacceptable that one of the best-known terrorists who ever existed on the American hemisphere is liberated, while the five young Cubans whose only crime is their fight against terrorism are remaining in jail under barbaric conditions В (this is about the Cuban patriots who unmasked the terrorist net of the Cuban anti-communist emigration in Florida, and that the US government without any reason accused of espionage, even if it has been proved that they didn't commit any anti-American action, but only cared of discovering the Cuban terrorist emigration net).

The demonstrators gathered in front of the US embassy carried the flags of the NKPJ and Cuba together with images of Ernesto Che Guevara, shouting “Yankees Go Homeв” (to protest against the US base at Guantanamo, on Cuban territory, but also against the imperialist occupation of Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Irak and Afghanistan by NATO) and calling “Fidel, Fidel”. The employees of the US embassy refused to take a protest letter that the demonstrators wanted to give them, and therefore this letter has been sent per mail to Michael Polt, US ambassador to Belgrade .

Jail for the terrorist Carriles!

Freedom for the five Cuban heroes!

Down with US imperialism!

MAY DAY STATEMENT

of the New Communist Party of Yugoslavia and the League of the Communist Youth of Yugoslavia

To the working class, the intellectuals, the agrarian workers, to retired people, to the students, the scholars, those belonging to the armed forces and the police - to all of them we convey our best wishes on the occasion of 1st May - the day of the solidarity of all the workers of the world!

1st May 2007 our people are living in the most difficult circumstances, full of onerous meanings for our native land.

Already 16 years ago, the USA and European Union imperialists in collaboration with the fifth column and separatists resolved to disintegrate Yugoslavia and provoked a bloody civil war that cancelled so many human lives, caused frightful destructions and haunted millions of citizens away from their houses.

Eight years ago, NATO soldiery performed a delinquent aggression against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, killing several thousands of our citizens, causing permanent illnesses in tens of thousands of persons, destroying many sanitary institutions and centers, religious places, schools, bridges, railways, let alone many industries, causing to our country damages that amount to more than 100 billions of dollars.

Allied with the Albanian terrorists, NATO occupied Kosovo and Metohija in a criminal way, killing thousands, driving out 250000 serbs, gypsies and other non-albanians.

For the main defenders of the integrity and the sovereignty of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, as well as for those who resisted to NATO, Washington, London, Brussels and Berlin created an inquisition called the Hague Tribunal, which is aimed to make the heroic defenders pay the bills back in a cruel way. This court killed Slobodan Milosevic in a subtle way. NATO countries forged with the iron and fire and hundred thousands of dollars a new power in the former yugoslav republics.

The NATO, with the Montenegro separatists, in 2006 destroyed the federation between Serbia and Montenegro , what remained of Yugoslavia .

In the past seven years since the counter-revolution took place in Serbia , this has become the poorest country in Europe .

The economy that our grandfathers, our parents and we ourselves tried to promote for entire decades has been sold out almost completely to foreign capital and domestic Mafias. Our natural resources are put up for auction. The overwhelming majority of the citizens is indeed becoming exploited working class and poor labor force, and must ask the capitalists - both foreigners or our own - for a job. More than 40 thousand companies are bankrupting. More than 50 per cent of the people in working age are unemployed. More than 60 per cent of the industries and mines have been closed.

The army is being reduced to a symbolic number and its technical abilities have been mainly destroyed. The highest State managers, let alone the Minister of the Defense, declare that they will not defend the integrity of the State, and will send the army to the Middle East instead, in the middle the Afghanistan cliffs, to combat for the sake of the imperialist aims of NATO. Those who do not support the army to be truly ours, they themselves will help making war.

All the conquests of our Liberation Struggle have been destroyed systematically, and all the fruits of the Socialism too.

The hasty running into debts of our country towards the exterior goes on. Already today, State debt has exceeded 20 million dollars, that represent 75% of the national product. Domestic Banks have been suppressed.

The application of the Bologna Declaration has destroyed our scholastic system.

Public and private agricultural enterprises, cooperative firms as well as peasants owning small ground-pieces are systematically ruined. A latifundium (large estate) system is being created, made of many tens of thousands hectares where the new owners transform peasants in laborers.

Nearly all the media are directly or indirectly under foreign control.

We are going through the systematic destruction of our identity; culture is being imposed to us, our history is being barbarically reviewed and rewritten.

With every mean, NATO countries want to steal Kosmet from Serbia and create on this territory another Albanian State in the Balkans.

And, in spite of all this, State leaders still declare that their strategic objectives consist in the integration in the euro-Atlantic pacts - that is, to agree to become servants and to be dominated by those who destroyed the socialist Yugoslavia as well as the federal Yugoslavia and occupied Kosmet.

The main enemy of our people and our native land are the leaders of the United States , England , Germany and France . These are trying with all their force to disintegrate Serbia , announcing that it is in their intentions to support the secession of Vojvodina, Raska region, and provinces in the south of Serbia like Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja.

Isn't it absurd the inclination of the governmental circles in Serbia to make our country approach NATO, the European Union, closing the eyes in front of all the misfortunes that these organizations have caused to us as well as in front of their brazen attempt to tear up Kosmet from us?

Our historical friend was and still is fraternal Russia , whose soldiers repeatedly poured blood and lives, together with us, for our freedom, independence and integrity. Our main guideline should be the demand for aid from Russia , China , Belarus , from Cuba , from Greece , India , the Ukraine , Vietnam , North Korea , as well as from Latin America and the other freedom-loving countries of Asia and Africa , and from the progressive countries in the Arabic world.

NATO IS OUR ENEMY, THE EUROPEAN UNION WANTS US TO BECOME ALL SERVANTS.

Serbia should work together with all those that respect it and deal with it like a partner, those who respect its independence, its sovereignty and the integrity of the country.

Until well-nourished and starving individuals will exist on this world, rich and poor, free and enslaved - also the idea of social justice will stay alive. And social justice does not exist without Socialism!

THAT XXI CENTURY BE THE CENTURY OF THE TRIUMPH OF THE SOCIALISM!

PROLETARIANS OF ALL COUNTRIES, UNITE!

LONG LIVE MAY DAY, THE FESTIVITY OF THE WORKERS OF THE ENTIRE WORLD!

STATEMENT OF THE SECRETARIAT OF SKOJ

Concerning the words of the German ambassador in Serbia

GET RID OF ZOBEL, SPOKESPERSON OF IMPERIALISM

The League of the Communist Youth of Yugoslavia (SKOJ) believes that, declaring that Serbia could be deprived of Vojvodina and Sandzak, the German ambassador in Belgrade Andreas Zobel did not just exceed the limits of its mandate, but also demonstrated clearly to be the megaphone of German and western imperialism, thus deserving the expulsion from the country.

The parallelism drawn by imperialists between the presumed occupation of Kosovo, on one side, and the one of Vojvodina and Sandzak, on the other, represents a rough attack to the territorial integrity of Serbia let alone a brutal interference in the inner affairs of our country.
The statements by ambassador Zobel are scandalous, and no country with an own dignity and sovereignty would have tolerated such a behavior.

Accepting Zobel excuses and his explanation that it was a matter of ”private opinion” is more than ingenuous, since it is evident that those are the stands of German and western imperialism. All this demonstrates the true nature of the peoples' prison called the European Union, under whose "protection" we are being forced by the pro-imperialist and pro-capitalist regime enforced in Serbia.

Zobel's declaration is a slap to the counterrevolutionary Serbian regime, which tries to convince us since 2000 that Serbia is becoming a country respected by the West and that it will not be subjected to blackmails any more.

SKOJ firmly protests for the low-profile reaction to Zobel's statement by the present bourgeois regime of Serbia, which did not call for Zobel's immediate expulsion (apart from some marginal political forces which have no real infuence on the political scene), so clearly showing its pro-imperialist character. The power in Serbia behaved as a colonial governorship and does neither deserve the support of the population nor that of the Serbian working class.
We say loudly: NO to a Europe that is nothing but a one-class tyranny wrapped in a silvery tinfoil.

STATEMENT OF THE SECRETARIAT OF SKOJ

SKOJ (League of Yugoslavian Communist Youth), a part of the NKPJ (New Communist Party of Yugoslavia), will not take part to the next parliamentarian elections in Serbia, which are held on the base of a law that directly smashes the fundamental democratic principles and norms and was formulated in line with the criteria of the bourgeois parties, which only want to extend their own power.

The SKOJ and the NKPJ carried out widely discussions for the creation of a Leftist Front, as the only viable solution in the fight against the block of injustice held in power by the bourgeois regime, and as the only viable solution for the creation of a true popular and democratic government. The SKOJ and the NKPJ have carried out this dialogue in the interest of the working people, which are asking for changes.
Leaders' vanity and distrust by somebody prevailed over the interest of the working class. For this reason, it will not be possible in these elections either that a true and determined leftist organization enters the scene, an organization able to contrast the existing bourgeois regime; because, unfortunately, the one which participates to the elections behaved like a cooperating "opposition”, collateral to this regime, in the past parliamentary phase.

In the view of SKOJ, the way in which the participants to the new parliamentarian elections lead their campaign is not surprising. The majority of the parties have been or still are a part of the governmental coalition, or they are satellites, and are now promising something that they never did when they had the occasion to. Some clearly right-wing parties adopt social-Communist programs for mere demagogic reasons, even if they use to boast themselves of their anti-Communism. The elections will demonstrate clearly what is the situation of our country; a situation towards which the country has been pushed by the two previous governments, after the bourgeois and pro-imperialist revolution of October 5th (2000, tn.). These are the very same parties which are boasting themselves of the “achievements”; those "achievements" which are clearly perceived, on the own shoulders, by the working class, whose greater part remained without job. Regarding the parties' race to force us into that peoples' prison which is called “European Union”, only their mentors have reasons to be happy - those coming from the formations of the national tycoons as well as the representatives of the world multinational companies. This is clearly demonstrated by the smaller and smaller participation (of the people to the "race towards the EU", tn.).

NKPJ and SKOJ remain committed to an open and unitary fight of all progressive forces, and for a new socialist perspective for our country. One of the steps in this direction is the preparation of the next regional elections in Serbia.

Socialism is the future!

STATEMENT OF THE SECRETARIAT OF THE NKPJ: THE ELECTORAL LAW IN SERBIA VIOLATES THE HUMAN RIGHTS

The New Communist Party of Yugoslavia (NKPJ) will boycott the next parliamentarian elections of Serbia, because the electoral law clearly smashes the fundamental democratic principles and the Universal Declaration on Human Rights. Indeed, the law for the greater part of the citizens kills the anonymous character of the poll, since it demands that at least 10 thousand individuals declare in front of the Court that they will vote for a certain party. For these signatures, and for the civil employees that have to convalidate them, one has to pay. This means that those who do not have the money to pay the Court tax cannot take part to the electoral procedure. It is also evident that giving a signature with all signer's personal information can be dangerous or at least disliked to many citizens.

Moreover, nearly 40 per cent of the Serbian citizens live in places where Courts simply do not exist. All these people are practically prevented from participating to the signatures' collection, and therefore to the electoral process altogether. In third place, the activity of the Court civil employees for the validation of the signatures is not clearly regulated, and the Courts do often complain about not having enough personal for this job, which causes some party to be favorite and some other to be discriminated.

All this look like certain Solone's laws, which stated that the rich has more rights than the poor, that is: the money goes proportionally to the census...

Balkan Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties,

Thessaloniki September 15, 2006

Joint Statement

Representatives of communist and workers’ parties from Balkan countries, namely from Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, FYROM, Greece, Serbia and Turkey meet in Thessaloniki on 15 September 2006. Messages of support and written contributions have also been sent by parties from Bosnia-Herzegovina and Romania.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the strengthening of the fraternal relations among the communist and workers’ parties of the Balkans.

During the proceedings the participants exchanged views regarding the further reinforcement of the labor and communist movements in the region, and discussed their experiences in the struggles against the imperialist offensive, against NATO and US bases, against the sharpening of the capitalist exploitation.

The participants saluted the resistance and struggle of the Palestinian and Lebanese people, as well as the significant mobilizations in some of Balkan countries against the sending of troops to Lebanon, against the occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq, against the deployment of new NATO and US bases in the Balkans.

It was underscored that in the current conditions it is imperative to intensify their struggles and coordination in order to defeat the plans of the imperialist powers in the Balkans. These powers pursue to obtain full control over the Balkan Peninsula, a region strategically significant for the US and the EU and their ambitions in the Middle East, the Black Sea the Caucasus and the Eurasia.

It was asserted that it’s an urgent duty for the peoples to reject and oppose the policy of “divide and rule” which aims at the emergence of new and weak states, in fact protectorates, as it is the case in face of the situation emerging in the Kosovo. The participants expressed their resolute rejection of any changes of the borders in the region. The participants expressed their concern that the imperialist plans and rivalry may cause again bloodshed in the region. The policy promoted by the imperialist powers aims not only to the intensification of the foreign interventions but also to the establishment of governments servile to the imperialist dictates, of regimes that will further deepen the capitalist exploitation and bind their countries to the imperialist organizations of NATO and EU.

It was expressed the common desire of the participant parties to strengthen and intensify their joint initiatives, as well as broader anti-imperialist actions like the reactivation of the Balkan Anti-NATO Center [BAN-c].

The communist and workers’ parties call upon the people of the region to strengthen the struggle:

•     Against the imperialist military presence in the Balkans; against the foreign bases and troops

•     Against the so-called “Balkan Brigade” and the participation of troops from the Balkan countries in NATO and EU missions to other countries, like Afghanistan, Iraq etc

•     For the withdrawal of all troops from Balkan countries stationed abroad

•     Against the involvement of the Balkan countries in the imperialist plans preparing new threats and wars against the people of Cuba, of Venezuela, of DPR Korea, of Iran, of Syria and others.

•     To reject any request regarding the so called “formal obligations” that engage directly or indirectly the Balkan countries to the imperialist plans

The participants also concluded:

•     To work for the further strengthening among the Balkan parties and to continue the discussion on the issues debated in the meeting.

•     To intensify the solidarity actions with the people of Lebanon and Palestine

•     To express solidarity with the people of Cuba and its leader, Comandante en Jefe Fidel Castro. To strengthen the struggle for the release of the 5 Cuban patriots from the US prisons.

•     To support actively the anti-NATO initiatives and mobilizations that are being prepared on the occasion of the NATO summit to be held in November 2006 in Riga.

•     To encourage bilateral and multilateral initiatives of the parties’ youth organizations as well as of Balkan mass movements like women’s, peace and workers’ organizations.

•     To meet again at the International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties that will take place in Lisbon on 10-12 of November 2006.

Joint statement by communist and workers' parties
Solidarity with Palestinian and Lebanese people

We strongly condemn all aggressive acts by the Israeli army in Gaza and Lebanon with tragically consequences for the live of the Palestinian, Lebanese and Israeli people but also for people from other countries.

We reject and condemn the blames and threats by U.S and Israeli government addressed toward Syria and Iran and against other countries of the region. These threats reveal that the real aggressive and expansive force in the region is Israel.

We strongly protest the US policy which encourages the Israeli aggressiveness. We reject the hypocrisy shown by the G8 leaders and the "equal distance" policy pursued today by certain forces.

We are highly concerned about and warn of the great dangers for a general spread of the crisis in the Middle East, for a new civil war and for a massive imperialist intervention in Lebanon under the pretext of "peace building measures".

The bombings against Lebanon follow the fierce offensive in the Gaza Strip, the kidnapping of Palestinian political figures, the attempt to eliminate the Palestinian National Authority, to destroy the infrastructure and to sink the Palestinian society into a state of chaos.

The raids in Gaza and Lebanon constitute new steps of the "Greater Middle East" US and NATO policy which is directed against the legitimate rights of the peoples, the popular resistance, the progressive and peace loving forces.

The Israeli government, the only military nuclear power in the region, demonstratively ignores UN Security Council resolutions, violates agreements with the Palestinian Liberation Organization, undermines the agreements by the Palestinian organizations regarding the creation of an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel, and rejects the ceasefire proposals. It is also in violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention, an international law that prohibits collective punishment, "targeted" assassinations, and destruction of the infrastructure of an occupied territory.

We call upon all peace loving forces to strengthen their solidarity with the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples, with the progressive forces fighting for peace in Israel and to intensify the struggle for a political solution based on:

The immediate cessation of the attacks and withdrawal of the Israeli army.

The respect of national sovereignty and territorial integrity against any imperialist intervention under any pretext.

The immediate release of the political prisoners.

The complete dismantling of the settlements and withdrawal of the Israeli army from the territories occupied in 1967, the establishment of a Palestinian state (Gaza Strip and the West Bank) with its capital in East Jerusalem, alongside Israel. The solution of the refugee question. The return of all Palestinian refugees should be based on the resolution of UN General Assembly No. 194 and according also to the other UN resolutions.

Only pulling out Israeli soldiers from Gaza and Lebanon and a just and viable peace would put an end to the bloodshed and guarantee the security for all peoples of the Middle East.

General Resolution

Let us advance, intensify and broaden the struggle against imperialism,
and particularly against the main enemy, US imperialism,
its wars of aggression and its threats and preparations for new aggressions!

15th International Communist Seminar
Brussels, 5-7 May 2006

I

Just like US imperialism used the lie of Iraq's "weapons of mass destruction" to justify its aggression against that country, today it is threatening Iran on the pretext of its alleged intention to produce nuclear weapons.

Washington claims for itself the right to bomb hundreds of targets in Iran and is considering the use of so-called tactical nuclear weapons or mini-nukes. While the US abets nuclear proliferation as long as it concerns its allies, such as Israel, it refuses Iran's right to develop nuclear technology even for strictly civil purposes. The US, however, refuses to honor the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, which imposes nuclear disarmament on all nuclear weapons states. The US and the NATO have repeatedly declared that they are willing to be the first to use nuclear weapons in a conflict, even against non-nuclear weapons states. Thus, the US Administration is threatening any country that refuses to bend to its absolute domination.

This new threat of aggression and war comes on top of the on-going illegal, illegitimate and criminal wars and occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan, which may already have claimed hundreds of thousands of lives. There is also increasing imperialist pressure and subversion against Syria. Meanwhile, the on-going barbaric occupation of Palestine is only possible because of the massive support of US imperialism to the Zionist and racist state of Israel, the complicity of the EU, and their common rejection of the democratically elected Palestinian government.

In Latin America, the US tries to impose its domination through political pressure, economic blackmailing and military presence. The blockade against Cuba continues, no efforts are spared to destabilize the Bolivarian revolution in Venezuela, and from its first day the new government of Evo Morales in Bolivian has been under attack. The massive US military aid to the Colombian regime - the notorious 'Plan Colombia' - serves to eliminate the revolutionary struggle of the Colombian people, and to reinforce the US domination over the continent.

The US is sabotaging the peaceful and independent reunification of Korea. Together with Japan, the US is instigating ever more local conflicts among the people of East Asia in order to impose the redeployment of its military forces in the region.

In Africa, the imperialists continue to loot the continent's vast natural resources that should serve its development. For this purpose, they keep dictatorships in power in numerous African countries, thus impeding the democratic expression of the population. To reach its goals, imperialism does not hesitate to provoke, fan or prolong divisions and conflicts between African countries and peoples.

II

The intensification of imperialist aggression is an expression of the structural crisis inherent of imperialism. The financial markets in the United States are playing an essential role in the enrichment of the ruling classes, and are fed with 800 billion dollars per year from abroad. Only the continuing international confidence in the dollar and in the US financial markets can ensure this situation, favorable for US economic growth. In the current context of structural economic crisis and increasing risk of a stock market crash, this confidence can only be imposed through economic and military hegemony. Faced with growing opposition to US policies, the US is still intensifying its aggressiveness.

Just like the occupation of Iraq, the threats of aggression against Iran show the importance of the control over oil in the current international situation, because it is an essential lever for world hegemony. This strategic economic sector has a direct impact on the structural crisis. The control over oil is also a means to exert pressure against any country that has to supply itself with sources of energy, and gives the possibility to hamper the emergence of hew world powers. Thus, the objectives of the imperialist war preparations are to tightly control the Middle East, as it sits on two thirds of global oil reserves and one third of gas reserves. Through "regime change" in Iran, the United States wants to install a subaltern regime like in the time of the Shah dictatorship.

Beyond the domination of Iraq, Iran and the rest of the Middle East, in the long run China and other Asian countries are targeted as main rivals. Those countries are ever more dependent on the Middle East for their oil supply.

Several European governments are also exerting political pressure on the Teheran government, thus adding to Iran's isolation. This shows that, if contractions between the United States and the European Union are intensifying, this doesn't impede the latter to connive with the aggressive policies of US imperialism. European imperialism also sees China and other Asian countries as rivals.

III

But notwithstanding its overwhelming military might and aggressive stand, the US is encountering growing difficulties to maintain its hegemonic position. Everywhere in the world, the anti-imperialist struggle is intensifying.

In Iraq, the United States is sinking deeper and deeper into the quagmire. The most modern and best-equipped armed forces in the world are suffering ever more scathing defeats in the people's war waged by the Iraqi masses, who are shedding blood for independence and democracy. More than 2400 US soldiers have already been killed and tens of thousands wounded. While the US military-industrial complex is making super profits, the financial cost of the war is getting more difficult to bear for Washington.

In Afghanistan, US and NATO troops are also facing increased resistance.

In Palestine, the elections and the continuing popular resistance against Israeli occupation have proved that the Palestinian people reject any compromise that fails to respect its inalienable national rights. They struggle for the removal of Zionist colonies in the territories occupied after 1967 and for the destruction of the wall of separation and racist isolation. They continue to fight for a sovereign Palestinian state with Jerusalem as capital, and for the right of return of the Palestinian refugees.

The recent success of mass struggles in Nepal has been able to compel the autocratic and repressive regime to give in to the people's just and democratic demands. Meanwhile, the revolutionary upsurge of the people is challenging the imperialist domination in the country.

In Latin America, the Cuban revolution is accumulating political, economic, diplomatic and humanitarian significant advances and is gaining broader support throughout the continent against the US plans of re-colonization. Venezuela and Bolivia's nationalization of the oil and gas industry augurs well for the Latin American peoples' aspiration to full sovereignty and do away with the so-called Free Trade Agreements, which in fact mean the continuation of US monopoly dominance. The close collaboration between Cuba, the Bolivarian Revolution in Venezuela and the popular and nationalist project led by Evo Morales in Bolivia shows Latin America's advances in its development of a viable and integrated people's alternative to US dependence. In opposition to the US-instigated "Free Trade Area of the Americas" or ALCA, this project, the "Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas" or ALBA (meaning dawn), opens the perspective of genuine sovereignty for the Latin American countries.

The resistance of the Congolese people has defeated the war of aggression instigated by US imperialism against the Democratic People's Republic of Congo, a war that has claimed the lives of more than four million people. In the first free elections in the Congo's history, in the second half of 2006, the people may be able to impose their will.

China and Russia are jointly reinforcing the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). This organization regroups the People's Republic of China, the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. Last year, the SCO declared to be in favor of the withdrawal of US bases from the region. The upcoming accession of Iran, India and Pakistan to the SCO, will put US imperialism in Asia in an even more difficult situation.

Anywhere in the world, the workers and other social forces are struggling against imperialism and capitalist policies. In Europe, the capitalists have been forced to retreat on a number of issues (the draft Treaty for a European Constitution, the European directive for the loading and unloading of ships, the 'first job contract' or CPE in France...)

In order to block the development of people's and revolutionary struggles, the US, European and Japanese imperialists are resorting to various anti-democratic, anticommunist and sometimes fascist-like measures. These range from the interdiction of communist names and symbols, the adoption of anticommunist resolutions and the elaboration of so-called "terrorist lists" to financial measures, judicial action, police repression, the outlawing of communist organizations, the imprisonment of communists and outright assassinations. Wide sectors of democrats and progressives are appalled by these measures and condemn them.

We are in the era of imperialism and proletarian revolution. Socialist revolution is the only way to eliminate capitalism, exploitation and domination once and for all in the whole world. In preparation for the revolution, the communists and revolutionaries develop and strengthen all struggles against exploitation and oppression. They work for the establishment of a broad united front against current wars and the threat of new aggressions emanating mainly from US imperialism.

IV

Consequently, we are putting forward the following slogans:

" No sanctions against Iran. A stop to all imperialist threats of aggression and war on Iran.
" The withdrawal of the US and other imperialist occupation forces from Iraq, Afghanistan and the Balkans. The withdrawal of the US bases from the Arab gulf. Support for the Iraqi and Afghan people's resistance.
" Solidarity with and support for the intifada and for the people's organizations in Palestine. The right of the Palestinians to choose their own government. An end to the genocidal blockade imposed on the Palestinian people by Israel, the United States and the European Union.
" A stop to the attempts to destabilization of Syria and to the threats against Syria and its people.
" A stop to US plots and actions to destabilize Cuba, Venezuela, Bolivia and to the threats to attack them militarily. The lifting of the blockade of Cuba. The immediate liberation of the five Cuban political prisoners in the US.
" Support for the Cuban Revolution, the Bolivarian Revolution in Venezuela and the popular and nationalist project in Bolivia.
" Solidarity with the revolutionary struggle of the Colombian people.
" A stop to the oppression of the Blacks, Latinos, natives and other oppressed nationalities and migrant workers in the United States.
" Peace in Africa and resolution of conflicts by the Africans themselves.
" Support for the independence struggle of the Saharawi people.
" The withdrawal of the US bases from Korea, and support for the peaceful and independent reunification of Korea by the Koreans themselves.
" Solidarity with the people's struggles for sovereignty and democracy in the Philippines and Nepal.
" Respect for the borders established at the end of the Second World War, particularly in the Balkans and the countries of Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. No imperialist interference aiming at a modification of those borders.
" The independence and sovereignty of the Republic of Belarus against imperialist maneuvers.
" Support to the workers and the peoples of the former Soviet Union in their struggle for the re-establishment of the Union of Socialist Soviet Republics.
" The withdrawal of all anticommunist and so-called 'anti-terrorist' measures. The liberation of all communist and anti-imperialist political prisoners.
" The dismantling of all military bases of the US and other imperialist powers abroad.
" The dissolution of the aggressive NATO pact and the US-Japan Mutual Defense Treaty. No European armed forces at the service of European imperialism.
" Total nuclear disarmament, beginning with the US, the country that possesses the largest number of nuclear weapons and the only one in history to ever have used them.
